Alert in Venezuela for possible eruption of an underwater volcano that could unleash tsunami

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro took his Twitter account Thursday night to report on possible measures that should be taken before a probable tsunami in the Caribbean Sea.

The alert comes hours after activity was reported at The Kick 'volcano in Jenny, five miles north of the island of Granada.
Luis Diaz Curbelo, director of Civil Protection and Disaster Management, told Telesur that the submarine volcano "began risky activity since Thursday night, so there was activation of preventive alert" .

Speaking to Globovision, Curbelo said that for the moment there is no tsunami warning because for such a thing to happen "there must be an earthquake greater than 5 degrees (magnitude) and that has not happened"
There is orange alert for the island of Granada by the activity of Jenny volcano that also generated high emissions of gases and that could erupt in the next 24 hours.
